Solve : MS Outlook/webmail - downloading contacts? |
|
Answer» I am attempting to configure MS Outlook 2000 to manage my email. I got it to work, but now I want to download my Address Book, and cannot figure it out. it tells me I need to download some feature from the source CD, which I don't have.By "source CD", do you mean the Office CD? So, you don't have it, right? No, I don't have the source CD. and I'm not sure if my coworkers will have access to it either. Is there a way to do this without it? Also, if I have my mail organized into folders ONLINE, is it possible to download all the folders as well? How would I do this? Or must everything I want to transfer be in the Inbox?I'm not sure this will work but here's an IDEA. Open Outlook Express and import your CSV file into the Address Book. Then, open Outlook Contacts and try import the OE Address list into Outlook's Contacts. Then, use Contacts as a source of addresses for Outlook email. As far as DOWNLOADING messages from your webmail service, I believe you'll have to move everything into your online Inbox in order to get it downloaded to Outlook. Of COURSE, a systematic approach might help keep your messages organized. In other words, you could move one folder at a time into your Inbox, download it, move the messages into other folders in Outlook, then repeat the procedure for another online folder, etc.Quote By "source CD", do you mean the Office CD? So, you don't have it, right?Oops. It would help if I read more carefully, wouldn't it? Why do you not have the installation CD? |
