Answer» I am getting the following error message:
standard mode:FAULT outside the MSDOS extender EC=0000 CS=0337 IP=28D0 AX=0000 BX=D4C0 CX=0001 DX=0000 SI=0397 DI=0000 BP=0196 DS=0277 ES=032F SS=027F SP= 0188 Please remove any floppy discs from your drives and press any key to restart the system
I have 40 gigas harddrive, 2 partitions, the primary only using 5% and the EXTENDED using 95%. I try to get rid of the primary and just use the extended, using all of that part but every time i go back to fdisk.exe it COMES back with the 2 partitions again. How can i just delete the smaller one and use ALL of my harddisk and getting rid of the error message?
If i bought a new hard disk will i still get the error message? thanks, ali Alot more info on your system, OS and what might have happened prior to this and someone will be along shortly...aliwatts, you can't have only an extended partition. You have to have at least one primary partition! If you want a single partition, I sugest you to delete the extended partition (or partitions) - after a system back-up on another media, of course. How do you get that message? You boot the COMPUTER and simply it just throws you that or you make some modifications? Did you check for any floppy disk in the floppy disc unit?
