Solve : multiple OS?

Answer» RECENTLY i installed a new OS of XP in drive D. the old VERSION was in C . i deleted all the files in C. still its showing a use of 10 GB. why?? i want to format it. how to do it?it cant be formated even using CMD as it contain system files. so is there any way using bootable disc to COMPLETELY format drive C. and keeping the OS in drive D. pls TELL Windows by default likes to be on C:
However it can be installed to any partition/drive you select.
It will still always write files to C: and allocate some space to run properly.
I'm afraid without more info on how you did this and what you want to accomplish here that only guesswork will ensue.

If you look at C with Windows Explorer, what do you see?

Or, OPEN a Command Prompt panel and use the dir command to see what's on C.My guess is depending on how he managed this is the swapfile and System Restore files are landing there...
