Solve : music playing at wrong speed?

Answer»

Can anybody please tell me why my music appears to play too fast thus creating high pitched voices. System xp,sp2 2.6ghz cpu, 512 mb ramWhat are you using to play it? Windows Media Player? WinAmp? Something else?windows media player and acoustica
Not sure about Acoustica but Windows Media Player has a play speed option in it somewhere.
I think it's in the Play tab.
Right click on the "play " tab and chose the ONE you want. Thanks for your help,I think the play tab is the answer. Thanks againSorry! wrong again, the playing speed in media player was set at normal and the voices are still sounding a bit falsetto. The tempo does not seem bad,but maybe that is not as noticeable as the vocals. So ESSENTIALLY we are back where we started. This is a friends pc so I am a little delayed in seeing the results of any actions you may recommend. Thanks again.See what happens with Winamp. What type of music files are these ? ?
Factory ?
DLoads ?
Copies of another CD ?

Your issue may LIE in how they were burned/copied....they were downloaded and just played. But even his older downloaded material sound the same.I have told him to download winamp and we'll go from there. Thanks. Some soundcards come with software that allows the users to change pitch and add echo effects and such. Is there any sound managers or anything like that running in the notification area? (Next to the clock on the windows TASKBAR.)I dont know but I will check that out next TIME I see him. That i something that his grand children may have played with. Thanks.
