Solve : My Compaq desktop will not finish boot after recovery setup? |
|
Answer» I had to do a RECOVERY on my Compaq Desk Top, after doing the recovery my computer will not fully boot into Windows XP Home. It goes through the boot sequence up to displaying the Windows Home logo and then it goes no further. I have no idea what is happing, I tried a different hard drive thinking that was the problem, made no difference... Very confusing ... Can someone please give me an idea what could be the problem. I have tried everything I can think of... I had to do a Recovery on my Compaq Desk TopHow exactly did you do this?I used the 6 recovery disk that I have for my PC...It came with the PC? If so, that could be trouble... Do you have the Windows CD?I don't understand why you think the recovery Cd's could be the problem... I have used them before and they worked just fine... No I do not have a windows CD... Everthing is included with the 6 recovery disk...There have been a lot of problems here with users using their recovery CD's. If you have used them before, then it might not be a problem with that. Is it possible you can borrow a Windows CD from a friend?were you trying to install xp service pack 3 ?My PC was working just fine then something happened? What component could have caused this to happen. If we can figure this out I should be able to get my PC up and running again... Any ideas... This will haunt me until I get it fixed...
