Answer» So ive been recieveing this battery error message when I start my computer, so I went and got the batery for a quick fix. BUT GUESS WHAT? Now windows wont start, my computer restarts every time it goes to load, So thinking itd be smart to format the hard drive and reinstall windows 7, It will not work the hard drive does not SHOW up AT ALL. I switched 2 sata cables thinking it'd be a connection problem. NOPE. And then I tried useing a PATA hard drive and that wont work either. I tried installing windows XP 64 bit and it gives me the BSOD (blue screan of death) every time I try to install. I checked all the wiring and its fine, I also tried putting my old battery in and that didnt work either. Nothing is semming to work. HELP PLEASE! D: Quote be smart to format the hard... I then put it in the comp and now it restarts and windows 7 install still wont reconize the disc driveIs this a laptop or desktop? What is make & model? What are your goals for this machine here ? ?Thanks for your replies EVERYONE. The "raid" Settings were on in the bios so it wasnt detecting the SATA hard drive. After turning it off, I was able to use my old hard drive and install windows on it. Darn raid!

You'll need to provide more details about what you've done. I went and opened up one of my old laptops up and pulled out the hdd. I then put it in the comp and now it restarts and windows 7 install still wont reconize the disc driveIs this a laptop or desktop? What is make & model? This never works...well sometimes rarely...
