Solve : My computer shut down and restarted itself, TWICE!?

Answer»

Once on Friday last week and again on Saturday. Both times a blue error page flashed on and off so fast I couldn't read it. Then it just restarted. I got the window that gives you the option to notify Microsoft and I did. Both times the answer was that there had been a stop command, caused by a failing driver. Although they did not say what driver!
My machine has been running fine. As far as I know everything was working. I recently downloaded some adware and spyware programs, so I uninstalled them, and have had no other issues yet.
How can I search for the alleged driver problem? Delete and reinstall all my drivers?

HP laptop--Win xp pro--McAfee anti V--(was using, AVG antispyware, Spybot S&D,Adaware 2007)Go to Control Panel/System/Advanced/Startup and Recovery...uncheck auto-start on errors.
Next time this HAPPENS the machine won't re-boot instead it will show the BSOD...copy all the info and submit it here...Thanks,
I'm not sure if I found the right thing or not. There is no "auto start" or "errors "place, but there is a" System Failure" section. I unchecked "AUTOMATICALLY Restart".
We will see.
JimThat's the one...
Let us know when you get that error message...it will LOOK like gibberesh but it contains important clues so make sure to write it down.
