Answer» hi to all i have a dell 3000 and it was turned off one night i came HOME and so i turned it on to load up to windows xp. but it never loaded up, and the screen said primary MASTER drive 0 not present. well i had to reformat the 80 gb hard drive and reload windows xp. well i got all the drivers backup in the COMPUTER and spent a few more days loading all my stuff i had on it to start with and it ran great. then about a week later i turned the computer off so some kids would not bother it while i was gone and i came back home and turned it back on and i GET this same message that the drive is not there. well i again reformatted the hard drive and started over again. and again after a week or so i got this same message that the drive is not there after turning my computer off and on. i have since then put a new hard drive in and its been running fine until tonight. i turned it off to move it to another location and i got that dreaded message that the primary master drive 0 not found or present. so i was totally upset with my new hard drive i just put in. well i opened the computer up and was just browsing inside the computer and i moved the wires that are connected to the hard drive to make sure the clip was seated correctly. i turn my computer back on and still said same message. so i did a ctrl,ALT,del key thing to reboot computer that way and it loaded up like nothings wrong? does anyone have any ideas how to fix this problem ?
thank you for letting me explain it to you.
