Solve : My Dell Inspiron 5160 will not go past the "Dell" Screen? |
|
Answer» It starts booting with the "Dell" LOGO screen, the progress bar reaches 3/4 of the way, then starts over. There is the F2 Setup and F12 Boot menu options, but it reboots because it doesn't give time for those options to open. Any ideas? What led up to this (new hw, sw, VIRUS, ERROR, etc)?Took it to the computer to get the keyboard replaced, possibly had Tea SPILLED on it. Worked good witht he exeption of sticky keys. New problem, but don't know if it would be related. This happened right after you replaced the keyboard because a liquid was spilled into it? And you didn't think it was worth mentioning or related? Okay. It worked fine for about a week after the keyboard was replaced, that's why I didn't know if it was related or not.Well, you can try a repair install. Assuming there is no hardware damage it should work. Boot to the XP CD and choose the SECOND repair option and ALLOW XP to install on top of itself. |
