Solve : My desktop doesn't obbey Power options' settings?

Answer»

Since I don't want to shut off my desktop (WINDOWS 7 Home Premium installed on it) when I finish using it at the end of the day, I opened Power options > Balanced (Recommended) > Change plan settings > Turn off display = 10 minutes > Putt the computer to sleep = Never > Change advanced power settings and applied Restore Plan Defaults except that I set turn off hard disk = 20 minutes.

However, and even though I closed internet and all open applications and end of day, the display turned off after 10 minutes but the hard disk pilot light continues flickering till next day MORNING, when I need to use my desktop again.

What should I do for my desktop hard disks really stop WORKING after the established time?
It's PROBABLY a BACKGROUND app...such as email checking...A/V updates...Win Updates...etc.
I personally would turn the thing off if your concerned about power saving...Thanks, PatioNP...Welcome Aboard !
