file storage online[/url]
OK. that's ready. Sorry it's taking so long....All those files open just fine here.
Try Irfanview: http://www.irfanview.com/ to open those files.
This is what I use.Thanks. I'll run it after I check it out. I know this is off subject, but why is Windows Explorer opening in My Documents from Accessories and then opens in My Computer using the Windows icon key + e on my keyboard? Seems odd to me. I SUPPOSE I've never noticed until actually having to "use IT" expressly.Quote from: Broni on May 17, 2011, 10:14:33 PM

SOUNDS like maybe you are starting to realise... 5 pages...Quote from: fartbubble on May 17, 2011, 11:16:04 PM

This is normal.
OK. Is it just a DEFAULT configuration? I would think Explorer would display itself as it's own program...like Internet Explorer. They each have a definitive TITLE. (i.e.) I have Stieinfeld pickles in the 'fridge. One is kosher and one is not; though they bear the same name. Quote from: fartbubble on May 18, 2011, 12:21:09 AM

Yes. You can alter it, details here:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307856

You can also change where it opens and with what configuration it opens by using the Run box and the switches detailed in that article.

I'm not sure what you mean by this. Internet Explorer has a home page which you can change, too.

Did you mean e.g. I have Steinfeld pickles in the fridge?

You keep kosher and treif pickles in the same fridge Oy gevalt!

I don't really think we need to pursue this particular branch of the thread, which has developed a nature I have alluded to above.
Agreed... I'll follow the link. Thanks. It seems my interpretation of Explorer vs. Internet Explorer has been a misconception.Quote from: fartbubble on May 17, 2011, 11:16:04 PM
why is Windows Explorer opening in My Documents from Accessories and then opens in My Computer using the Windows icon key + e on my keyboard?

To explain this a bit more clearly...

The shortcut in Windows Start Menu (Accessories) for Windows Explorer is set so that it points to the user's “My Documents” (in Windows XP or earlier) or “Documents” (in Windows Vista) in the logged on user home directory. This is because Microsoft envisaged that most users will make use of the folder to manage their documents and files, thus having Windows Explorer opening in My Documents by default is convenient for most users. You can alter the default folder & view by editing the shortcut target.

However, because not everybody will want to go to My Documents, an alternative destination, My Computer, is provided and is available by pressing the Windows key then the E key. This one is not so easily editable - it seems to be hard coded.

To open Explorer in other folders or locations and to influence behaviour, e.g. what sidebar if any is shown, see the article I linked to, and also this one

... and literally hundreds more which are only a Google search away.
