Solve : My Home PC Performance is very slow.?

Answer»

Hello i have an " esys " brand home desktop with 512MB RAM and 80GB Hard disk. My system was very slow, then i formatted & installed my PC with WIN XP SP2. I never install any other 3rd party utilities or S/W's. I am using Panda updated anti virus. But still again my PC was very slow while opening browsers like IE7 & Mozilla Firefox 3.6.3 ver. Some times even my system GETS hang. Previously i never faced this sort of problem. At that time when i restart my PC then it works better than past, but not much fast. What i have to do, to make my PC performance good. Help me out from this issue. Please do not post the same QUESTION more than once. I deleted the duplicate post.

1) Upgrade to SP3
2) After installing the OS did you install all drivers (STARTING with the chipset driver)? Also you should CONSIDER upgrade you Memory to 1Gb,

Changed the antivirus suite to another, maybe NOD32.

another idea is:
clic on Start botton
clic on Run
type: msconfig
clic on startup tab

and disable suspicious software

Clic en ok and reboot the system.

esvom.

PS. Sorry 4 my bad english.

I agree about the ram.

I disagree with msconfig. If you want to disable startup items use a dedicates utility such as Mike Lin's Startup Control Manager.About the RAM, depending on your current RAM configuration, buying a 1 GB stick and adding it to what ever you have got makes more sense and you will end up with over 1 GB of RAM.
