Solve : my laptop stopped recognizing CD/DVDs? |

Answer» My new laptop (1 month old) HP Pavilion dv6426us stopped recognizing CD/DVDs. I was playing a CD and it got hung halfway through. I have to force restart the system to get out of the program. Since then it is not recognizing any CD/DVD. This is only the second time I played a cd in the drive. It was linkysys router information CD. My operating system is Windows Vista. The CD icon is being displayed in my computer and if I dont insert a CD it will EJECT out asking to insert a CD. But if I insert a CD it will not recognize the CD/DVD. I removed the upper and lower filters from registry also tried system recovery, but STILL not working. Pls let me know if I NEED to REPLACE the hardware or is it a software problem which I can fix. |
