How would I do that?  I have a laptop--does that count, or no? Would I need to find another person who'd let me temporarily use their computer for storage?

laptop is fine if you can hook up the drive to it. Quote
I got my computer hooked up in my NEW apt
I'd open computer case, and re-seat RAM, and video card (if any).
Maybe something got un-seated.
Do you have real video card, or on-board video?

If the above doesn't help, try starting computer with 1 RAM stick at a time. All the red X was telling you is the machine was not HARD WIRED to the modem/router.I just rebooted in safe mode and it let me in!

But I'm not sure what to do--I signed in, and it loaded.  This screen popped up:

Desktop

!  Windows is running in safe mode.

This special diagnostic mode of Windows enables you to fix a problem which may be caused by your network or hardware settings.  Make sure these settings are correct in Control Panel, and then try starting Windows again.  While in safe mode, some of your devices may not be available.

To proceed to work in safe mode, click Yes.  If you prefer to use System Restore to restore your computer to a previous state, click No.

What do I do?!? Quote from: patio on May 29, 2009, 06:56:43 PM

Thank you all for your help!!!

Is there ANYTHING I should do to it now that I'm in?  Or just leave well enough alone?  Having any other problems? Quote from: Broni on June 01, 2009, 11:03:32 PM
