I also used KillBox which told me the file cannot be delelted. I am stumped here I want to remove the enitre Maxtor Backup software but nothing I try works. Do I just highlight it and save in Microsoft Word or a text file?? And How would bring a text file into the Startup folder get rid of this??It is probably loading at startup and running as a service. And if that doesn't work open notepad copy and paste the text in previous post, click file, save, find where it says "Save as file type", click "All files", and name your batch file Anything.bat where Anything is the name of what you would like to call it, and click save. I had to use the combo order for going to msconfig and shutting off the Maxtor programs, using the code fffreak kindly showed me, and finally finishing it by going to safe mode and deleting this memory raping program from my C: Drive. I'm finally FREE! Heres some advice to those who own External Hard Drives: Do NOT put that CD that came with your hard drive into your computer and install that crappy software! This Hard Drive cd crap is NOT worth the "extra features" promised by the company because this CD will load this sick file called C:\Program Files\Maxtor\Maxtor Backup\MaxBackServiceInt.exe that runs everytime you startup and will rape your computer memory by using 100% always. It was a hard lesson to learn and I hope to save someone else the surprise by finding out their computer slows down to a crawl after installing this junk. This is worse than a virus!By the way, that's not the case with all removable hard drive software, that would just be that particular line of maxtor brand hard drive.
