Answer» Please help. I've downloaded a script called GPSi to download my GPS waypoints. The directions that CAME with it said to 'double click on the .bat' file to register its components, but when i double click the file it only opens the file and doesn't seem to be doing any registry. Please help. How do i run .bat files? Do i have to run it from MS-DOS? IF yes, How? Thanks in advance.
.bat file can be run from within Windows by double clicking on it. It'll simply open Command window, and run from there.Post the contents of the .bat file so we can determine what it is that it does...Thank you all for responding. I figured it out. The 'read me' file that came with the script was not working for me. It said to rename the file to .bat, which i did and didn't work. This is how i GOT it to work. Instead of renaming the file to .bat file, click 'file-->save as-->name of file.bat'. This SOLVED the problem.
Just in case any of you forumers are using ArcMap, this is a neat script(free),posted on ESRI's site, to download your Garmin GPS POINTS into ArcMap 9x.
Once again, thank you all very much. Thanks for posting back
