Solve : need help reformating laptop? |
|
Answer» I recently got some kind of virus that some how made my system32.drivers files missing or corrupt. Whenever i start the computer it asks me if i wanna start in safe mode, last know good CONFIG, or regular windows. neither of these options work and it just keeps restarting to the same screen. I put the reformat cd that came with my toshiba satelite M45 laptop but it doesnt load. I tried changing the bios to make it boot from cd but it still doesnt work. I tried pressing delete and f11 at start up to get into dos mode but nothing works. It just keeps going back to the same screen asking me if i wanna go in safe mode or watever. Can anyone please help? I have a toshiba satelite M45 laptop with windows xp home edition. After you change the boot order in the BIOS, select "Save Changes and Exit" or similar; otherwise your change won't be saved.yea i did save changes twice and still doesnt boot from cdTry cleaning the CD. i dont have another computer to try with lolDon't you have friends?yea i do but they dont wanna risk there hard drives being erased and reformatted...i already know the cd is fine so theres no NEED to try it on other peoples computers because people are having the same problem with this toshiba model and there boot cd does work on other peoples computersHard drives don't get erased by merely inserting Windows CD. How do you know CD is fine? You still don't know, if your drive is fine. Both questions can be answered by trying CD on another computer.well the cd is brand new and was only opened two days ago..theres no scratches or MARKS on it either..and ive read online that this toshiba model has this reoccurring problem. Alot of people are saying to just put in the regular windows xp cd instead of the toshiba boot cd. Borrow Windows CD from a friend, and see if you can boot from it.
