Answer» Hi!
I've got a Window Vista Laptop, and it was working fine until a couple of days ago. It can turn on, but it doesn't start like it should. It keeps telling me there is a problem with the kernel. I don't need it fixed (ALTHOUGH if anyone knows of any ways that would be great). What I actually need to do is retrieve the info from my laptop and put it onto another computer, if it's possible (Mainly documents, software, music, and images). Thanks in advance for any help! Grab one of these...
Laptop 2.5" to IDE CONVERTER...'bout 8 Bucks from any PC STORE... This will allow you to hook up the drive to any working desktop machine to grab your data... NOTE: Windows does not need to be working on the laptop drive to do this... Best of Luck. Many laptops use a 2.5 inch Hard drive. If you can remove the hard drive, it can be connected to a USB adapter that will let you use another computer to read the drive contents.
oops.! Patio ALREADY mentioned the IDE adapter for a desktop. This is a better choice. But if your second computer is another laptop. you would use the USB adapter. Here is a link the explains what they are:

I'll get back to you with the results when I get the chance.
Thanks again !
