My computer doesn't seem to want to update. It started out with Windows Installer 3.1. Now I have received more updates and it won't take any of them.

Can anyone help me FIX this problem?

Thanks in advanceCan you give us your computer specifications, also try and give more detail in to the problem, what does the system do (e.g. constantly fail updating ?)

Many of the updates will not work without Windws Installer 3.1, find it here;

Sean. I'm running windows xp pro.

I am not able to install window installer. I have tried and it won't install. It will not boot up in safe mode so I can't try to install it that way. I have looked at all the websites and done what they say, and am still not able to install.

I know there are guys in here that can help fix this and I am hoping that they will see fit to grace me with their knowledge and help me fix this problem.

Also, not being able to boot up in to safe mode sounds very strange, especially if you can boot in to Windows in 'normal' mode . It may be worth a reinstall of Windows.

Sean.I have avoided so FAR at all cost's NOT to reinstall and will continue to avoid at MOST cost's to NOT reinstall windows. Meaning only as a very very last resort will I reinstall.

The only error MESSAGE is when I click on the little yellow icon and it starts to install it comes up and says was unable to install WI.

If I try to manually install, it just says Access Denied.

I know you don't want to but it sounds like your only option. Well as I said before, I know there are guys in here who could help me fix it, but they didn't like the way I refused to format in the first place and so now they are just being jerks and refuse to help me.
