Im trying to find out which motherboard I need to get for an HP pp2200 laptop....I have no idea what Im LOOKING for or where to start.... anyone have any ideas?

-Abby Q. <3You will find it extremely difficult to change the motherboard in any Laptop as they are highly restricted to the Manufacturer and the size Like with like but you are are onto a brick wall here sorry.

increase the RAM add EXTERNAL devices such as drives but Mobo No.arite, thank you! =DAny reason why you want a new motherboard?well, its actually for someone else, but his cat peed on his laptop, and I cleaned it for him, and when he plugs it into the wall, the blue light comes on but it wont boot up.... so instead of buying a new one (which is what I think hes gunna have to do) he wants to replace the motherboard. So, Im just trying to make sure there isnt some way of doing it at home. But I think Im just gunna tell him that hes better off buying a new laptop...

o, and while Ive got your attention   how much would it cost anyway for something like that? just so I can compare that with all the cautions and a new laptop.... so, got any price ideas?No way to replace the motherboard, not easily anyway.
It'd be better to buy a new laptop.
As for the price, it depends on what you want.
Size, battery LIFE, graphics, power, storage space, what it will be used for . . . anything from about £200 to £4000 and up (I'm in the UK, so I don't know about US prices if you're over there).yep, thats what I thought, and here is definitely where Im at (states) and thank you for your help, Ill be sure to tell him that.  8-)That's OK.
It's hard being in the UK, I can advise on what's good but not how much it is or if it's a good deal.
