can someone help me here please? Have this Hp computer with windows operating system presently installed . it is a windows xp pro. SERVICE pack 1. i want to wipe out every thing fro m the computer. dont mine loosing my programs.
I have the os cd. i am doing this because the computer constantly crashes.
what do ineed to do? and do i NEED some BOOT disk or start up disk, and if so wherte do i get this disk.

That's the disk you need.

Disconnect network cable or modem. Insert the CD, go into the BIOS and set the PC to boot from CD ROM, reboot machine, choose new install, wait until it is DONE. PROCURE Service Pack 2 and install it before connecting to Internet to avoid trojans.
