Answer» hi all, Trying to repair someone's computer. Windows 98 first release. The problem is windows is not launching. Win.com is missing. So I searched the INTERNET for solutions and found out that I have to EXTRACT a file called win.cnf, to copy it to c:\windows and then rename the file to win.com. But......I do not have the windows 98 Cd ! and the files cabs were not INSTALLED on the HD. So, can anyone out there point me to a link where to download the win.cnf file for 98 1st release ?
