Answer» I recently got a broad band connection for my home pc. This is recently installed with a new hard drive, new 10/100 ETHERNET card, We were using the broadband to connect to the internet with no problems. I down loaded SP2 and ran the wizard to install Sp2. Thereafter i couldn't connect to the internet. I later found that the network connection to the ethernet card was disabled. So enabled the same. Now i got another network symbol showing at the bottom right of the taskbar, But this one shows network as enabled. But the YELLOW triangle which XP puts up as information is showing. says 'limited or no connectivity' how do i solve that?. I couldn't figure that one. so decided to connect the MODEM to the USB port. Done that successfully, But the same symbol with the same information alert is showing. Can anyone let me know how to remove that. Now i can't connect to the internet at all. although the modem shows that it is conected. I tried to disable the network connection of the modem but it won't allow me to disable the connection saying it is not a plug and play device. don't know what else to try. Thanks The SaintIs there just one network adapter on this PC? And it is wored, not WIRELESS? What if you run connection wizard? This is a link for the 'Limited or no connectivity'.
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=17d997d2-5034-4bbb-b74d-ad8430a1f7c8&DisplayLang=enGX1_Man, Only one ethernet card is installed in the computer and another is on the board. The one on the board is not being used. No wireless pcwizards, thanks for the link just clicked on it and it goes to the download page update for SP2, will try download that and hope it will solve the problem. Anyone with any other ideas.?? the saint. So the "ethernet card" you added is actually a wireless PCI adapter card then? Try DISABLING the onboard NIC, and then reboot and run the connection wizard again.
