Answer» Hey guys. I'm PETER, new on the forum. I got a question. I am using Windows Vista 64-Bit on my brand new HP DV5-1174CA laptop. The other day, I was looking at my free space on my hard drives. On my C Drive, I have 255GB free out of 287GB and D Drive is empty with 10.4Gb free (Note: D Drive is recovery disk). I decided to RUN the Windows Defragmenter and it was taking forever so I closed it half way. I checked the next day and my hard drive free space greatly decreased. My D Drive has only 197Gb free out of 287 Gb and my D Drive has only 1.4 Gb of free space. I ran the Defragmenter on Windows and waited till it finished and I also ran the Diskeeper Pro Premier and though my speed went up, my hard drive space still remain the same. What happened and how do I regain my disk space? Thanks for all help.Did the de-fragmentation program indicate that it should be use? So did you go ahead and use it when you were told it was not needed? The vista I used was experiencing some "slowness" and I ran a disk defragmenter to speed things upDLoad; install and run Auslogics disk defrag...FREE and runs on Vista X64... |
