1.	Solve : New xp install - no add hardware icon in CP?
Answer» I'm doing a new Xp install and it isn't RECOGNIZING the CDROM. I went to the CP to 'add hardware' and that icon isn't there. Is there a command LINE for it to detect new hardware? I reinstalled XP and it didn't put those things in. Thanks. Start/Run hdwwiz.cpl....... Where did this version of XP come from ? ? I bought it. Why would you ask that?Maybe because of the fact i've seen just about every version there is in my short time here. If it offends you that i ask...... you shouldn't let it... Did you try and run the command line suggested ? ? You MAY also want to go to Start/Run and type in sfc /scannow and hit Enter... Have your XP CD HANDY as it will ask for it. When done re-boot and see if the Control Panel applets are all there.
