Solve : No Audio Device, please help.?

Answer»

Hello EVERYONE, i have a 2002 windows XP HOME edition, the sound card is a soundMAX integrated digital audio. Last week all of the sudden the sound stopped working, headphones don't even work. I can still HEAR system sounds. When i go to the control panel and look at the sound settings everything is greyed out and says "no audio device". So i go and look at my hardware and the devices and it says everything is working properly. I've been searching forums all over the place and can't seem to find a solution. I've re-installed the devices, got new ones, tried all these different things, but still, no audio device. Troubleshooting won't even help me, please help it would be greatly appreciated. Have you tried system restore?I assume, in Device Manager, under "Sound, Video And Game Controllers", you have listed:
SoundMAX Integrated Digital HD Audio
Does it have a yellow exclamation mark NEXT to it?your sound card could have died. It happens as hardware only lasts for an amount of time before the SOLDERING wears out.
