Solve : No display once windows has started.? |
|
Answer» Hey. I got an Ati graphics card. The software i USE for it is called catalyst control center. One day i changed the display setting to tv and plugged my computer into the tv. It was fine until i changed the setting back to monitor and turned off my computer. Now there is no display for tv or monitor. I can see the boot and everything until windows starts up, then everything disappears as if the monitor goes on standby. I can see stuff when im in safe mode. I have tried system restore and i have tried to uninstall catalyst control center then reinstall but i cant uninstall it in safe mode. Also there is nothing in my startup folder and i tried disabling ati services in sysconfig. i tried disabling ati services in sysconfig.First, re-enable these. What Operating System is this? What did you do when you were connected with the TV? (downloads, installs, ECT...)Services renabled. Im using vista. I played a game (worms 4 mayhem). Then i switch my settings back to monitor before turning off the computer. When did you try to restore to? Also, in Safe Mode, Go to Start --> RUN --> type msconfig and press Enter When you get to msconfig, click the Startup Tab and uncheck as many programs as you can (except antivirus software) Press OK and see how this goes.I RESTORED to about a month ago (the restore point was the installation of a game). I dont have antivirus cause that computer isnt connected to the internet. Ill try what you said now.All right. Also, if this doesn't work, run System Restore again but restore to a few days ago.Ok. Problem fixed. I disabled the services the restarted my computer. It was still black screen. I pressed ctrl alt delete and my gfx card fan turned on to the speed i set them to. After that i plugged my monitor into the second monitor port and it worked. The weird thing is it didnt work when i tried to swap ports before system restore. WELL at least the problem is fixed, now im gonna have to reinstall a few games though . THanks for the help! All right, glad it's working. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask them. |
