Solve : No "move to" command in right click drop down menu in XP?

Answer»

My mother just got an external hard drive, and is trying to move files to it from her established drives.  I had thought the "send to" command would move the FILE without leaving a copy in the original place, but that's not what's happening.  I also had thought that there was a "move to" command in that drop down menu in XP, but I'm not seeing it.  While it's not impossible to just copy the files and then delete the originals, it seems like extra work, if there's a way to just move the STUFF over.  Can anybody tell me if A) my impression is a mistaken one, and then B) how one might add a "move to" option in that menu?HIGHLIGHT the files, then right-click on them and drag them to where you WANT then release the right mouse button and you should see the "move" command.Send To addon... ;DGREAT!  Thanks to you both very much! You're welcome Or, with no download...

Add Copy To / Move To to the Windows Explorer Right Click Menu

I'm guessing he just forgot to "right-click/drag" before looking for "move"

Like I evidently did... my muscle memory knows it; evidently the brain memory is not so reliable. As for CTRL-X and CTRL-V, let's not go there!
