Solve : no sound.and can i install a printer without a cd rom.?

have just recently had windows xp installed and since this i have not had any sound.i triedvolume control in control panel but this will not let me adjust.also i have a lexmark x1100 3in1 printer.it needs installed but have not got the installation disk.do i have any options there.look forward to hearing from you all.

arty quinn.... Re-install your sound card/chip drivers from the MBoard manuf.

DLoad the current printer drivers and save them to the DESKTOP and install them from there...Go into control panel, double click sounds and audio devices, make sure the volume hasn't been muted. I usually try the simple stuff first. You might find the cd you need on ebay. You are probably stuck with out it.Quote

Why would he be stuck without it ? ?
Drivers can be DLoaded and installed from any directory DRIVE or STORAGE device...Your probably right Patio. He may find the drivers at the manufactors WEBB SIGHT. Quote
