Solve : No sync?

Answer»

new rebuild, Asus m4n68t mobo Amd Phe.llx4 840 cpu, and 2g 1600 ram . Ran start up disk to install and completed win xp.
Boot computer and get a [no sync]. Tried different monitor other monitor said [no signal], when reset button PUSHED i got a screen
\windows\system32\config\system is missing or corruptI would SUGGEST a repair install because this is a fresh installation. the \windows\system32\config\system is missing or corrupt MEANS a registry error has occured: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307545Then my restore disks do not restore the registry. Would this also cause the No Sync to show?

ThanksA [No Sync] means that the GRAPHICS card is not outputting anything to the monitor.

Your windows restore disks should wipe EVERYTHING on your computer.Excuse the LAMENESS.
The rebuild was only the mobo, cpu and ram. The hard drive is original, [no graphics card].

I ran restore disk when I finished partial rebuild. 46-48% of the way through the restore I got that message for windows corrupt.
Ran it a second time and it completed. Rebooted and flashes through Asus screen. Ends up finally asking if I want to open in safe mode (i tried) and other options (i tried) to no avail.
