Solve : no video on monitor when trying to boot up? |
|
Answer» I have a Gateway, windows xp system. When I boot up from shut down the monitor does not show anything except "no video" on screen, if you repeat the shutdown boot up process a number of times it will then work fine. you just can't shut down again or it will take the same nonsense to initiate. I have tried 3 monitors and the same thing. I finally took it for repair and they THOUGH it might be the powersupply, but no, still the same problem I am told it must be the motherboard and replace it along with probably a new box because everything might not fit back in because I have all the cd dvd and music extras. What do you think. ummmm i dunno about the psu it seems more like vid card and/or drivers I checked what you said and I have a ? and ! states "other devices 8300 series." What does that mean, something to help with troubleshooting. Thanks and let me know. Well this is kinda vague as the tool i mentioned will give you more info than you will ever need on that machine...run an Everest report, save it as a text file and post it here... It sounds though like you are missing your video drivers so the report will help verify this.yea i might be right... lol srry im bored and waiting for the dance to start so i have something to doQuote from: unlovedwarrior on May 04, 2007, 06:51:22 PM yea i might be right... lol srry im bored and waiting for the dance to start so i have something to do Dance? lol i help out at my old HIGH school on the last dance of the year im their non alcholic bar tenderQuote from: unlovedwarrior on May 04, 2007, 06:54:59 PM lol i help out at my old high school on the last dance of the year im their non alcholic bar tender I'd hate to have an alcoholic bar tender around.
