Answer» Any hope here? I am running XP pro with all updates. I am running into a problem trying to download the latest Firefox browser and an antivirus software program. I keep encountering the "Not a valid Win32 application" message. Am I stuck in the last CENTURY or is there a way I can upgrade my system to a 64 bit OS? ThanksYou need to download the 32-bit versions of whatever software you're trying to install if you're running a 32-bit OS.
If they are 64-bit installers or if the 32-bit installer is a corrupted or incomplete download, you will GET this message.Thank you quaxo. Appreciate the information. Unfortunately the latest web browser from Firefox does not give me a CHOICE as to which os version I can download. Same with the AVG file I am trying to download for virus and malware PROTECTION. I found the post that proceeded mine about how to determine which type of system (32 bit or 64 bit) to also be very informative. I may be at one of those crossroads with respect to investing into a newer pc. Thanks again for your insights. digital sojourner

Then the download was likely corrupted.
