I try to start my pc and get to the logon screen and I select the users and the computer says " Loading PERSONAL Settings" then goes to "Saving Settings" then to Logging Off.

I have tried Last KNOWN GOOD configuration, and all the others, but keep getting the same screen.

I want to DISPOSE of the computer but would like to delete the os and files before doing so.

Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you! chris1968...... If your going to dispose of the machine , you could either format the hard drive....... and do it several times or simply remove the hard drive and dispose of the machine MINUS the HD........ then destroy the hard drive and your done with it .


dl65  I would like to reformat the hard drive but I cannot get to the screen to do so.   The computer keeps going to the logon screenWhat operating system are you using on that machine ?

dl65  Windows XPok ...... go into the bios , and change the boot sequence to cd-rom first boot ..... then save the change and exit ........ Next , put your XP cd in the cd- rom and reboot the machine ........ now you will get the option of formatting .


dl65  Do you have a floppy  3.5 drive?
