hey im trying to downgrade (or shall i say upgrade lol) from vista to xp pro my hdd is wd1200bevs i have a gateway mx8716b and slipstreaming sp2 etc is not an option i bought a floppy drive for the purpose of pressing (f6) to install 3rd party raid driver at xp's boot screen xp does reconize my floppy drive it even lets me import the driver etc but then after a little bit of loading i get this message
file \winxp\fasttx2k.sys caused an unexpected eror line 2108 in d:\xpsp1\base\boot\setup\oemdisk.c.
i think i have the correct drivers possibly not
IVE tryed many things ALSO my bios is shadowed i cant DISABLE hd settings etc a step by step walkthrough or any help at all would be much appreciated and i know your the guys for the job. thank you in advance...

You do realize Vista is an OS of 2007, and XP is from 2002, right?
The problem is, XP is probably too old to properly handle your hardware.
You can check for drivers on your computer manufacturers site and see if they have an alternative driver list, however, you MIGHT have to go without a RAID setup. Your drivers are too new. Some punctuation next time would be helpful. Your post is almost impossible to read.
Why is slipstreaming SP2 "not" an option ? ?

Sounds like a HOMEMADE XP CD to me...
