I have many notices that slide out from the righthand lower corner of the screen telling me to do updates and a couple that are ads.
How do I remove these? Thank youWhich pop up that you see as ads? This can be a simple program you are running telling you there are updates such as Adobe or Java update etc or something as annoying at HP Printer MANAGER popping up suggesting going to their web store to buy INK since your at 33% etc.Or he's infected...
What protection apps do you have ? ?If you are sure that those PROGRAMS are Ads or other UNNECESSARY you can do following steps :
1. Right click the icon of program you want to exit
Select Exit button.
OR
Right click Task BAR->Task Manager->PROCESSES
Select the name of program and select "End Process"

2. If you want to keep the program running and want to disable its update
Right click icon->Select Properties/Setting
Find Update, and disable automatic update.

3. To remove permanent :
Uninstall that program from Control Panel
OR
Start->type "msconfig"(for 7 or 8. Alternate : Run->type "msconfig")
Go to Services tab and disable the specific program to load (Avoid disabling Window's programs)
