Answer» My BROTHER purchased my 80 year old mother a Dell DIMENSION 8100 computer. She has constant problems and calls me to help her fix them! (I live 1000 miles awaY) She called TODAY and I think she has a corrupt ini file. BUT she doesn't have os DISK or anything else to fix problem! Can I set up the windows remote assistance? Or is there a remote access program I can use to access her computer? Thanks broomOperating system and service pack? Why do you think this file is the culprit? What happened prior to this - hard shutdowns, malware, etc. What is she using for virus and spyware protection? Etc.I'd get her Linux Ubuntu and set-up E-mail and WEB browsing, it'll be very hard for her to break anything that way.
