Answer» So I've searched through all of the topics concerning the ntoskrnl.exe file and could not find a solution. I also went to the part of the site that deals with that and still could not find a solution.
I'm running an hp desktop with a AMD Athlon 3800+ processor, 200GB HD with a 500 GB external, 2GB Ram, a Radeon X1950 Pro, and Windows XP Service Pack 2. I had this PROBLEM RECENTLY and thought it was my keyboard (i have always used wireless) so I purchased a new one, and when i plugged it in it did the same thing. I went through the boot from CD steps and got it working again, but just a couple weeks later (today) the same thing happened. I was browsing my music collection when the mouse and keyboard just cut out. I had just plugged in my iPod to update it, but I doubt that has anything to do with it. Now when I go through the boot from CD steps, the computer won't even read the keyboard. What can I do? Thanks in advance here you go look there for hopefully solutionsThanks for replying dude. I ALREADY tried all of those, and since they all require the keyboard to be used to fix the file/boot the last known good setting/all of them haha, I can't use them. Does anybody know what I can do to get my keyboard to communicate with the computer??what KIND of keyboard? oh wait wireless srry try a ps2 oneWhat is a ps2 keyboard? different type of plug in google it Oh, so just a wired keyboard pretty much right? I tired my old wired keyboard and it still didn't want to read it...I am worried about my poor computer haha.ummm... have anything important on the hdd?I mean, I'd rather not format it cause there is some stuff that I haven't backed up yet, but I guess if that is the only viable solution, I have to do that.hold on... slave the hdd to another computer and backup everything and then reformat. that way the Os will be prefect again lol
