does the BIOS show all the RAM when it tests the memory?

Yes.Cloth +RAM = static.

Power down and unplug the machine.
Make sure you are properly grounded by touching the metal case.
Remove 1 stick of RAM...leave the one closest to the CPU in.
Power up enter setup and select Load Fail Safe Defaults...
Press F10 to Save CHANGES and Exit which will re-boot the machine.

If this does not work repeat the above procedure after swapping out the stick that's in there for the one you removed.

If it does work Power down and add the 2nd stick of RAM Quote from: Aegis on October 04, 2008, 05:39:04 AM
Start with the Fail-Safe Defaults, as they are usually the most basic settings to make the system run.

I tried the Fail-Safe Defaults, and after saving it all to CMOS and rebooting, I got boot error, I loaded the Optimized Defaults and everything got OK.Good JOB. This machine may have been shipped OC'd...i'd TRAVEL to the manuf. site and DLoad your MBoard manual just in case....their good to have.
