Solve : office files? |
|
Answer» When i purchased my new laptop i had all my files transfered at the place i bought it. All the files i had in Microsoft word, on my old computer, got put into microsoft office on the new one. One of the PROBLEMS i am having is with some invoices i had on word. My office trial period is up and now i can't use the invoices without purchasing a full office subscription. I believe that's around 400.00 and i don't want to go that route. Is there a way i can transfer those invoices from office to something else such as Microsoft Works? What is the FORMAT of the files? Are they .doc files or .xls (Excel) files? Hey, Spoiler, do you know if ABIword will read that new blinkin' .docx format? No it will not.....and they are working on a patch....I think MS offers a viewer...not sure about that. Sorry to raise your hopes! No, it's cool. Oh, and thanks for recommending ABIword earlier. I'd forgotten about it, but I've heard GOOD things about it.Yeah, Abiword is great. OpenOffice is good, but bloated, it's very slow to open. For anyone using OpenOffice, make sure you take a look here. Oh, and MS do offer free viewers for the new Office 2007 file formats, but as far as I know no other programs can modify them yet.Open Office 3 beta will open M$ Office 2007 files. |
