Solve : Old progams disappear.?

Answer»

Mine is a desktop, generic, running Vista Ultimate.
Sometimes I don't run a program for several weeks.
When it occurs to me I search for it and it isn't there.
Further searching shows me that it is no longer on my computer anywhere.
It occurred to me to try to learn where these programs go.
Where do they go?
How are they selected?
Who selects them?

Any information appreciated.
CopasDoesn't make sense...
Are you saying their listings are no longer in the Start menu ? ?
If so at the bottom there will be a small down arrow that will expand the view...perhaps this is what you're missing...

If not post back and let us know what programs are misssing.\

P.S. Vista re-orders apps according to most recently used so this may be what your seeing...

Welcome Aboard !Open Windows Explorer. Unless you specify a different location, most programs INSTALL by default to C:\Program Files. Have you LOOKED there? Programs DO NOT disappear or uninstall themselves. Period. Thanks so much for your kind responses.
It is a great comfort to me to know that 'an invisible hand' is not culling my programs.
I will search a little further on my drives.
I did hear on the grapevine that the Gov is SPENDING on enhancing their capeability to shut down any PC containing dissident political viepoints.
Remember:..."just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean that everyone is not out to GET me..."

Thanks and keep up the good work!
