Solve : OMG! MY COMPUTER WONT WORK!?

Answer»

Hey can u help me out my computer with windows XP wont work. I start my computer up, it loads with the weird windows xp sign (blue dots going past) and when its done that THATS it! just a black screen! I cant get on its like my windows is totally missing. Also when i turn my compy on i get a choice of what to do cos windows says that there has been an error i can either start windows normally, start with last know good settings and sum other choices which i dont know what they are. They still dont work though i hate my computer, can you help me out on what to do.Well you can either reformat your computer and start all over. Or you can try o use the recover in the Windows XP CD.. Does safe mode get you anywhere? What did you do to get it messed up in the FIRST place?Gee Adam I don't know what t tell you but hang in there  someone useful and kind will get back to you.

As for Mac what is with you anyway!  Adam is asking for help and you respond with an attitude like that!  Why don't you get a life and stop responding to the posts if you can't be HELPFUL!!!Do you have the original Windows CD and the 25 digit code to activate it? Have you ever loaded an operating system before? Can you get into safe mode as mentioned above? Are you able to get to the recovery console?

Once we know this we can advise. Hang in there. You are probably getting the 'choice' screen because you didn't shutdown windows correctly. (Understandably)

Is your video cable plugged in securely?Adam ~ I know how frustrating a computer can be at times and those who make light of your situation experienced problems themselves at some time in their computing experience. Here are two articles that will help you to reload Windows...any problems repost.

XP - GENERAL INFORMATION - REINSTALLATION - AND - DRIVE CLEANUP GUIDE

One day people who use computers for - work - will take preventative measures, prevention being better than cure.

This way they learn that simple planned prevention is MUCH easier than laborious and time consuming costly  repair.

In the Engineering world there are generally two forms of maintenance, preventative maintenance and breakdown maintenance.

Preventative maintenance uses skill and dedication to prevent breakdown. Breakdowns occur where skill, dedication, and preventative maintenance have not been applied to the situation which presents itself.

In this world there are professionally trained Engineers and non-professional amateurs.

It is similar to going to a professional doctor or going to a quack who practises mumbo-jumbo or voodoo.

Which would you consider to be better?

Personally I would prefer that each computer - maker -  has a service forum for serious users and that there shouldn't be - any - 'geeks' - using computers at all.

A geek-free planet with no mumbo-jumbo and no voodoo would have to be a better place on which to live.

Anybody happen to find a post somewhere? There seems to be one missing from this thread.I think Mac zinged him and then removed the post, which leaves us all wondering.

Except for me, cause I saw the zing. (Hence, the response.)I saw the zing, the edit and the final removal.
Is that you Merlin?

If Nancy ever comes back I hope she registers.
