Solve : OMG SYSTEM32?

Answer»

ok im in a panic mode"ish"
so the problem is my SYSTEM32 is GONE but not really
it just doesnt show in C:\WINDOWS
but when i used run LIKE C:\WINDOWS\system32
the file appeared can ANYONE solve this problem for me
and plus system32 is like invisible i tried the hidden file doesnt work
pretty much NOTHING WORKS!!!!
HELP PLEASE  Is it possible that the folder just got moved around somehow?  Go to View > Arrange Icons by > Name and see what happens.nothing tried that before i even looked through the whole windows myselfum helloI personally don't know what else you might try.  It's odd that only that one folder has "disappeared".  People seem to be losing RANDOM files/folders lately.

Don't worry, someone will come along with more suggestions.  The board is usually a little dead at this hour, but it'll pick up again soon enough.

In the meantime, have a quick look at this:

Have you been infected recently?guess what

and well system32 is back to life WOHO and now i gotta delete thos
trojans which i have no idea how i would do that because it is
in systems files important ones
by the way my comp is ok now and for everyone out there
the "virus"/ trojan's ip origin is
169.254.249.3
BLOCK THIS IP IMMIDIETLY PEOPLEList the protection programs you have...

That machine has issues.norman virus control
plus its still scanning and i have about 50 trojans/viruses found so farthat was the most useless comment ever
its updated very recently and no protection is full prof not even nortonFunny, that link was a total shot in the dark.  Heh.

Personally, I think Norton is subpar compared to some of the other popular scanners.  I would give AVG Free a try if I were you.  I mean, it's free, so it's not like you have much to lose.  If you don't like it, just UNINSTALL it.  When you're done scanning, you might want to post a HijackThis log.  Some of your infections might end up being tricky to detect/remove.i used to use AVG Free but i didnt find it that good
and anyways my norman one comes with my computer so
i think its ok
but the copyright dates are really out....
1990-2005 hmmm i might as well get a new comp and a new anti-virus with a new game
BEST COMBINATIONDo you mean Norton, or do you really mean some obscure program called "Norman"? Your English is so tear-bringingly terrible that I can't really tell. Quote

You are running one protection program so how could it possibly be a useless comment ? ?

You're asking for help and making off handed comments....i don't quite get it.

At any rate DLoad install and update the following and run them all:

Spybot Search and Destroy

AdAware

AVG Anti-Spyware (formerly Ewido )

Post back with the results.

p.s. Just for grins DLoad and run Stinger as well. All of the above listed are free....
