Solve : One particular site very slow to load?

Answer»

Win 2K. One of the web sites I visit frequently suddenly has become VERY slow to come up, and very slow to read the next POST, etc. This has continued for more than a week now. The other sites I visit come up quickly. Have asked OTHERS if they experience this and they say no. Had my Son log onto it from his computer and it came up normally. Any ideas? Tnx. What is the site ?Clear the history and INTERNET cache from your web browser.

CCleaner is a great free program that will do the job (and more) for you - just spend some time on their website and read take the tutorial Quick Tour. http://www.ccleaner.com/

EDIT: If you install CCleaner, don't install the Yahoo toolbar unless you want it. The Yahoo toolbar has nothing to do with the operation of CCleaner,The site: http://www.pfs-ware.com/talkshop/

Tnx. It loaded fast for me you may try 'drmsucks 'IDEA with CCleaner.Took about 8 seconds to load for me - but inside the site was quick. When I went to CCCleaner I ended up with RegCure for $30. Before I pay for it is that what I need? Tnx. No. That's not what you need. You need Ccleaner without the toolbar and it's free.Quote from: SuperDave on July 28, 2008, 11:09:29 AM

Okay, I downloaded and ran CCleaner. Seems to have made no difference.
Does it need a Restart to be effective? Quote from: dixieflash on July 28, 2008, 12:30:24 PM

Just to double check: a) what browser do you use? b) For IE, select at least the first three IE options, c) for Firefox, select all of the options (except Cookies, if you don't want to lose them), d) for either, select Temporary Files under System, e) go to Options>Advanced and deselect the first item regarding files over 48 hours. Re-run CCleaner.

Always a GOOD idea to re-boot. In fact, if you haven't done so in awhile, why don't you shut down, leave the computer off for 15 seconds, then power back on.
