Solve : Only two columns of programs are shown in the program list?

Answer»

When I click on Start --> Programs, then ask it to show them all, it provides two large columns of programs and program folders. But I know there are more, off the SCREEN on the right. If I uninstall a program, another one becomes visible!

How do I tell it to show them all?

I'm using Windows XP, pretty up to date (automatic UPDATES and such).

Thanks!

EdCan't say I've ever had that problem. I thought when it ran out of room to the right, it would display them back towards the left. Any chance you could post a screen shot.

If any of the ENTRY strings are very long, consider renaming them to reduce width of column required to display them.

What screen resolution are you using? Perhaps if you set display to higher resolution, you'll get more screen area (real estate). To set:
o Right-click open area of desktop - context menu appears
o Left-click "Properties" - Display Properties Window appears
o Left-click "Settings" tab
o Adjust "screen area" slider to desired value; e.g. 1024 x 768 pixels.
o Left-click OK buttonCan't say I've had that problem either, but when I saw this post, I looked at my program names or descriptions under programs. I shortened the longest one and all my columns became smaller.

You must have one program that has a lot longer name or description that it NEEDS to have.

For INSTANCE, Microsoft can be shortened to MS.

Right click on the longest name and click on rename and make your changes.
