Solve : os wont start?

Answer»

I have windows xp pro and it wont let me log onto the computer. It goes to the welcome page, I click on my name and it trys to open and then it just "saves" my settings. Needless to say I'm not on that computer right now! I can't get into it at all. It doesn't work in safe mode either.
I've had this for 2-3 YEARS so it's not because I didn't register my copy of windows and it expired after 30 days.Lester:

You are the third person in as many weeks with whom i've communicated who has had the same problem.  It could be a virus, but TRY choosing the Last Known Good configuration instead of Safe Mode from the menu to see if that will fix it.

If it doesn't, let us know.

Regards,
Docummm..... well friend... I also had this problem. The reason is that, you are using PIRATED version of windowsXP and the trial version of windows has expired and you didn't register the copy of windows. Try reinstalling windows from some other CD. There is no solution otherwise. Remember..!!!you must reinstall windowsXP after formating your drive containing windows XP, so make sure that you have transfered your data to some other drive before formating.
If you get anyother solution then plz let me know also. My e-mail address is [email protected]
Take care and bye.
DeWDr. Wahab's explanation sounds very logical. I once experienced the same issue.

<---- Agrees

After 30 days ONE cannot log on to Windows XP in any mode but Safe Mode until the registration is completed.  Reinstalling the OS will not give an additional 30 days, unless the hard drive is reformatted.load the winxp disk in the drive.....press enter. then press the f8 and chose the REPAIR option..... If this is the case then it can't be the case.Perhaps he tried fiddling around with cracks.

I had an activation key for windows XP SP 1 that when used with Windows XP SP 2 would simply cause it to refuse to boot when installed after the 30 day trial was over.winxp allows 120 days before activation....and just out of curiousity.....did a message appear to change your password.....do you wish to change it.....and you have a forgotten it? 30 days for both Upgrade and OEM of Home.I can't do any of the THINGS everyone has offered. I've had thes version of xp on my computer for 2-3 years so it's not like it expired. I turned off the computer one night and the next day it wouldn't work. I need  info on it!Is this a laptop??or desktop......do you know the name of the hardrive??lester..

And i guess you have this>> The OS on a new PC from an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) may be activated in the factory. This means that you will never be asked to activate the system. And more info>http://kadaitcha.cx/activation.html
