Solve : Outgoing Email stuck in Outbox of Ms Outlook?

Answer»

Help - I did something stupid by trying to send a HUGE email attachment from my MS Outllook.  It seems to be just perpetually "sending" but I dont think it's going anywhere.  When I right click on it and try to delete it, nothing happens.  How in the world do I can this thing?   ANYONE know any tricks? How huge are we talking?  If you have a modem/router with connection LEDs, you will probably see them flashing, indicating that data is being transmitted.  UNFORTUNATELY Outlook doesn't give you any kind of progress indicator.

Sending large files by email is quite inefficient.  Partly because as part of the process, the files are automaticially made much larger by a process called uuencoding.  If you want to share large files, better choices are FTP, web hosting, PEER to peer, etc.  Personally, I would avoid sending files larger than 1 or 2MB.

Now to your problem: the simplest WAY round this problem; unplug your modem or router.  Restart your computer.  Load up Outlook.  You should get a TIMEOUT error within a few minutes.  You should then be able to delete the message from your outbox.
