Solve : Outlook Express PROBLEM?

Answer»

I am using Outlook Express as my mail server. A couple of weeks ago, something happened and it started leaving sent messages in the Outbox folder and resends unless I manually delete it. It also is no longer copying the sent message to my Sent Items folder. I loaded NORTON 2006 and ran a full system scan. This is the only thing I can think of that would have done something to it. Any help you can give me in resolving this would be very much appreciated!!!

Thanks
CaryAd Aware, Spybot and Ewido for you.

www.google.com and enter the names for free download. LET's make sure your system is clean first.I will run both AdAware and Spybot and make sure it's clean. Thanks for replying!!!I ran both Spybot and AdAware. It had a few cookies but not much to quarantine and clean up.

If there is any system information or anything else you may need to know to help me, I'll get it to you.

Thanks for your help!

CaryTry looking under Tools>Message Options>Send ans see if the settings look right.I have checked and rechecked the settings. I just checked them again and can't find anything different than it's always been...

CaryBaskin..... How do you know if you are able to send if the sent folder isnt being populated ? ....or have you sent your self a test message .
Open Outlook Express , and click tools/Options/Send tab ........now make sure .....Save COPY of sent messages in the "sent items folder" has a green tick mark in the square box .

Do you mean you just installed Norton 2006 and then ran a full scan ...or do you mean that you opened Norton and ran a scan. Is it Norton 2006 AV your using, or Norton Security suite and how LONG has it been installed .

I checked the setting setting for sending messages to "sent items" folder. It's checked to send them.

The Norton version is the INTERNET Security/Symantec Integrator. It was loaded on December 20th. The sent items folder stopped receiving sent message on December 14th.

Thanks
Caryaccording to microsoft, the send and inbox should be under 2,000 items. seperatley. you might need to copy out to other boxes you create in e-mail, just be sure your sent and inbox are under 2,000 items.. hope this helps, it helped us, A 5 month bump....
