Solve : pagefile locked in at 20 MB?

Answer»

I think I received a virus...I formated my hard drive and reinstalled windows 2000 and still have the same problem on 2 seperate computers.  The problem I am having is that  a service or driver  fails... and my pagefile.sys is set at 20 MB.  I tried increasing it manually without any luck...
Please can anyone help me

ps- I also scanned with AVG and it finds nothing

have a look in the EVENTS viewer ....control panel admin tools.....and if you to adjust the page file sys setting can be viewed and changed by going to the  also in the control panel>select the performance tab, and then clicking on the virtual memory button. if  you do change the virtual memory settings you will have to reboot  do you get any stop error messages..are they networked?I checked my event viewer and get a service control manager error, it says the task scheduer service terminated with the following error: Access is denied
I also tried to set my pagefile manually by setting the MIN and max pagefile size to 250 MB each.  I did this by going to my virtual memory dialogue box, entered the size I desired for my pagefile, then clicked on SET, then rebooted...
Unfortunately during startup I get the same error telling me that my pagefile is to small and I need to resize it.
I also tried formatting my hard drive and reinstalling but get the same thing after a few reboots
Yes I am networked with 2 other computers
