Solve : pagefile.sys?

Answer»

On start-up, my computer tells me, "Your system has no pagefile.sys or the file is corrupt." Then later, while running, I get additional error messages like, "The file or FOLDER pagefile.sys is corrupt."
By changing the defaults and viewing hidden or system files, I can find my pagefile.sys file. I'm pretty SURE I could delete it, but I'm not sure I want to. Where can I get a pagefile.sys file that is NOT corrupt?
Please do the following:

Open Control Panel and open the SYSTEM applet - click on the Advanced tab - Click on the Performance Settings button - click on the Advanced Tab - where it says Virtual Memory click on CHANGE - Select NO PAGING FILE - click SET - Click OKAY to get out.

Reboot

The system will load slowly - don't worry about it.

Defrag the drive

Then go back to the Virtual Memory setting as per above and set it to SYSTEM MANAGED

Reboot

Let's see if that HELPS.
Thanks for the help. Sorry... that didn't work. I still get the same eror message.
What is new or different since the last TIME everything worked properly (ie, new hw, new sw, virus, error, etc)?
