Solve : Partioning hard drives? |
|
Answer» I am working on a dell vostro 1000. There are 2 partitioned drives, C & D. C has 31.2 gb.....D has 68.3 gb. I am doing a reinstall with the recovery disk. My prob is that when I do the reinstall, C is smaller than D, and once I add all the new updates and etc, C gets full. I need to make C drive partition bigger but when it via the recovery disks, thats the sizes it makes the drives. Can someone tell me how to partition them or maybe another option? Thanks! You can use a third party utility such as Easus Partition Manager: http://www.partition-tool.com/The Best Partition editor/resizer is GParted The Best Partition editor/resizer is GPartedIn your opinionQuote from: Allan on July 09, 2010, 11:14:07 AM In your opinion In your opinionQuote from: DTMidian on July 09, 2010, 01:53:38 PM
No, it's not his opinion that it's your opinion that gparted is the best partition editor/resizer. It's a fact that it's your opinion.Quote from: BC_Programmer on July 09, 2010, 04:44:50 PM No, it's not his opinion that it's your opinion that gparted is the best partition editor/resizer. It's my opinion that it's his opinion. and that's your opinion.Quote from: DTMidian on July 09, 2010, 05:41:52 PM It's my opinion that it's his opinion.what the *censored* is going on here? Are you going to continue to say "that's your opinion" and make other backwards and grammar-based logical attacks on everything anybody says? First you said that GParted is the best partition editor/resizer. Since that is clearly your view, Allan correctly said it was an opinion, since, by definition, an opinion is "a personal belief or judgment that is not founded on proof". You then REPLY that this statement that it's your opinion is also merely an opinion, when it was not. Since your view is clearly not based on any factual evidence other then your personal experience with gparted, It was an opinion, and that is a fact. If Allan had said that GParted was not the best partition editor, that would have been an opinion as well, since it's not founded on proof. Perhaps next TIME you try to derail a topic or present an argument using recursive logic you might want to look up the definitions of the words your using to make sure that they can even be used recursively and still remain in-context. Regarding the original question, there are any number of partitioning tools that can be used, most of which can be run from within your Operating System as well as those which can be run from bootable discs. Easeus Partition Manager and GParted are only two possible choices. Which one you choose is really inconsequential- support for resizing partitions without DATA loss is nearly ubiquitous. I ABSOLUTELY Agree |
